So, it's 1985...AIDS is still very new to the scene.  Houston's candidate for mayor at the time is asked what he thinks should be done about the growing epidemic.  His answer?  "Shoot the queers!"  Only in Texas...
Even a bunch of self-absorbed fifteen year olds could see what a political gaffe this was.  This is pretty much the end of the notebook.  Don't know if we just lost interest, or what.  I have another notebook, but I think I'll spend a week or so with some other things before I get to it.
